The Endless Pool

Endless Swimming PoolBoston - In the spirit of Olympics and Michael Phelps’ 8 gold metals, we wanted to talk about an outdoor space product that might just get us all a step closer to Olympic Gold; or at the very least, a few seconds faster in the pool!

The Endless Pool is a small pool design for use indoors and out. The signature feature of the Endless Pool is a built in current generator which allows a swimmer to essentially remain stationary while completing any swim stroke they wish. Often referred to as a ‘Treadmill for Swimmers’, the Endless Pool is utilized by competitive swimmers all over the world.

Endless Pools are available in both in-ground and above ground models, and can also be retro-fitted for use in existing swimming pools. The Swim Spa model doubles as a spa with fully functional hyrdrotherapy jets. Sizes for the Endless Pool range from 7′x12′ to 10′x16′ with depths up to 6′. Prices for a basic Endless Pool System range from $10,000 for a free-standing ‘Fastlane Pool’ to $30,000 or more for custom built in ground models.

One of the things that we love about the Endless Pool is it’s ability to fit small outdoor spaces. Above is an example of a small pool in a tiny outdoor space in California. By extending a stone patio to the edge of the pool, the owner was able to create enough space for a couple of chairs and a table. The warm fence colors and pool lighting creates a warm and inviting space that is also functional.

So come on people; Throw on those Speedos and strap on the goggles – it’s time to swim!
